CUE UP THE JAWS MUSIC AND HEREAFTER BE AFRAID OF THE OCEAN, VERY AFRAID

After a grueling day of diving:
When I was a scuba diver, I dove with sharks and while they were inquisitive they did not fine divers in wet suits to be a delicacy. Thank you Jesus!  In the video below the hammerhead shark gets into extremely shallow water as it chases a fish of some kind and seems to be moving toward two men wading in the shallows.

It's all very fun looking, no? And fascinating to boot!

I run or cycle very early each morning on the beach at Hilton Head every summer. Many times I have seen sand sharks and bull sharks feeding in two or three feet of water just off the beach. They leave when the sun gets up a bit, before all the people come out. I never mentioned it to the wife or she would not leave the condo. LOL!

Shark

This guy used to hang out in the lagoon of Diego Garcia. I hope he is still alive somewhere out in the BIOT. Night dives with open ocean navigation were a real gut check. Always a shadow going by. Had one fellow come back with a bit of fin missing.

There is a pretty good video on youtube of a big shark coming up and gobbling down a big fish someone is reeling in. See if you can find it. We can't post vids on the blog.

I was TDY there frequently for long rotations from 1980 - 1983.
