THREE POPES ARE PRESENT, ONE IN TIARA! POPE PETER, POPE BENEDICT AND POPE FRANCIS! PLEASE NOTE THE REQUEST FOR NO APPLAUSE FOR THE POPE AT THE ENTRANCE AND DURING THE CEREMONY!
SOME OF THE NEW CARDINALS ARE WEARING LACE, THE ONES FROM THE POORER COUNTRIES!
And this news video from Pope Benedict's next to the last elevating of new cardinals shows the difference in style between the two popes as it concerns this particular liturgy. I would say that Pope Francis liturgy while more simple in style is more reverent than Pope Benedict's below despite the sumptuous display of papal regalia.
But more importantly, the reporter is clairvoyant, as I am ,in that she predicts Pope Benedict's resignation and this more than two years before it occurred!
But as traditional as Pope Benedict was, please note the raucous applause not only for him when he enters, but for each new cardinal during the liturgy. If this took place with Pope Francis, traditionalists of the radical sort would have decried it to the nth degree:
However, in these news report from FOX, Pope Benedict's final elevation of cardinals is a bit toned down and then there is speculation about all the cardinals His Holiness elevated and what this means for the future. Back to the future now and we know!
